This is our younger preschool room, with children ages two and a half to three. The children get familiar with routines in this room. Story time, puzzle time, art and music are some of the experiences they will enjoy. Songs and fingerplays are some of the emergent skills that a child experiences at this age. They are talked to constantly to help develop language and communications skills. They will learn to play cooperatively, take turns and share as part of their growing. We introduce them to potty training and with the help of parents are successful. Outside time is critical and available two times a day for at least an hour when weather permits. So be sure to dress appropriately. Children develop friendships at this age and are eager to see their special friends. We encourage manners and respect in all of our children. Social skills are important and practiced regularly. There is plenty of time for acedemics later. Right now children have age appropriate experiences and expectations.
